Common Nails

As the name suggests, common nails are everyday nails found on nearly every jobsite. Typically used for framing and other medium to heavy construction work, common nails are made from wire and feature a thick, flat head that is usually 3 to 4 times the diameter of the smooth shank. They have a thicker shank diameter than box, cooler or sinker nails, making them a strong nail that can be driven into tough materials.

Common nails are available in sizes ranging from 3d to 60d (1-1/4" to 6" Length). Choose steel nails in several finishes including bright uncoated steel, electrogalvanized and hot dipped galvanized for progressive levels of corrosion resistance or a stainless steel. Smooth shank common nails offer speedy installation while ring shank nails deliver greater holding power in soft and medium woods.
